General Utility LLC, doing business as Nearer ("Nearer," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Nearer productivity application at nearer.io. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using Nearer you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you sign up we collect your email address and, if you use Google Sign-In, your name and profile picture as provided by Google. We use this to identify your account and communicate with you.
Lists, cards, and any text you enter into Nearer are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. The encryption key is held by Nearer and is not stored alongside your data.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We receive a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe.
We may collect basic usage data (e.g. pages visited, features used) to improve the product. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties or use it for targeted advertising.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing terms. We share only the minimum information necessary for each provider to perform its function.
Your card and list content is encrypted at rest before being stored in our database. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. While we take security seriously, no system is completely immune to breaches. We will notify you promptly if we become aware of a security incident that affects your data.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Nearer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process such as a court order or subpoena. We will notify you of such requests to the extent permitted by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Nearer after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
